Founded in the 1920s by Dr. Benjamin Rau, Dr. Stuart Fox purchased Rau Animal Hospital in the 1960s.  After receiving his V.M.D. from the University of Pennsylvania in 1981, Dr. Mark Fox, joined the staff at Rau, and he purchased the practice from his father in 1986. 

Dr. Mark Fox has served as the Director and Head Veterinarian at Rau Animal Hospital for over 20 years, and takes pride in providing exceptional pet care.

Rau Animal Hospital’s Glenside location underwent a major renovation in 1997, resulting in an expanded Fitness & Rehabilitation Center, a waiting room with pet partitions, and upgraded exam rooms.

In March 2006, Rau acquired a new location in Willow Grove. Conveniently located on Easton Road, Rau’s Willow Grove location offers the same great veterinary care and the doctors you have come to know and love from Glenside!

Most recently, Rau added a third location in Chestnut Hill that offers specialized veterinary services for cats. Rau’s Chestnut Hill cat clinic offers a full range of services for your cat, including surgical services, dentistry, and dietary and behavior counseling.
